Fairventures Worldwide reported that approximately 1000 guests visited light-wood pavilion at TEI 2017 and visitors varied from government officers including the Indonesian Minister of Trade, international and local buyers, architects and individual end-users. The light-wood pavilion was created to showcase lightwood as a flexible and strong construction material or furniture component. Beyond that, the light-wood pavilion has provided exporters and importers with a venue to meet for business dialogues. Fairventures Worldwide believes that there will be an increasing trend towards a demand for global light-wood over the next coming years.
Additionally, the 2nd ILCF has successfully attracted 90 participants from Indonesia, neighbouring countries and Europe who attended presentations, panels and discussions about the potential of light-wood. The forum was inaugurated by Mr. Martin Stottele - Head of Economic Development Cooperation at Swiss State secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in Jakarta and Mr. Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono - Director of Export Development Cooperation of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade. The event offered important players from the ligh-twood industry, such as architects, manufactures, light-wood experts, international buyers, government officials and academics, to share their knowledge and experiences about innovations and market access for Indonesian light-wood products. At the panel discussion, the participants could discuss their concerns and thoughts with light-wood experts.
The 2nd ILCF provided holistic insights on the light-wood industry and offered a good venue for different players of the light-wood sector to connect and be updated on the current situation and trends in the global light-wood market.
SIPPO Indonesia sees many business opportunities for Indonesia’s lightwood producers. However, many companies also still need to overcome challenges, such as supply work in progress light-wood and quality issues, in order to tap both the local and global light-wood market.
The 3rd ILCF will tentatively take place in October 2018. Keep browsing our website for more information this and other future events.
